Lab tool
A laboratory centrifuge for cell suspension harvesting, protoplast isolation, DNA/RNA extraction, and pelleting cell aggregates. Microcentrifuges (up to 16,000 × g) handle 1.5–2 mL tubes for molecular work; benchtop centrifuges handle 15–50 mL conical tubes for bulk cell work. Used in advanced workflows including Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, somatic hybridization, and in-vitro material analysis.
Rotor failure risk if tubes are unbalanced. Always balance opposing tubes by weight (±0.1 g) before spinning. Do not exceed the rotor's rated maximum speed (rpm). Inspect the rotor and tubes for cracks or stress marks before each run. If the unit vibrates abnormally during operation, stop immediately and investigate before restarting.
