Culture media ingredient
The most widely used plant tissue culture basal medium, developed by Murashige and Skoog in 1962. Contains a precisely balanced blend of macro- and micronutrients, vitamins (thiamine, nicotinic acid, pyridoxine), and myo-inositol. Suitable for a broad range of herbaceous plants, ornamentals, and dicots. Adjust pH to 5.6–5.8 before autoclaving; supplement with sucrose (20–30 g/L) and agar or gelrite.
