Standard 90–100 mm polystyrene petri dishes, gamma-irradiated sterile. Used for explant preparation, surface sterilization rinse steps, plating protoplasts and single cells, and as sterile transfer surfaces. Also used for counting somatic embryos and staging callus material. Polystyrene is gas-permeable; seal with Parafilm for extended culture periods or to prevent desiccation.
