Plant growth regulator
The first naturally discovered cytokinin, isolated from aged herring sperm DNA. Less potent than BAP but produces more compact, normal-appearing shoots in species sensitive to synthetic cytokinins. Used at 0.1โ5.0 mg/L for shoot multiplication, callus induction, and axillary bud proliferation. Preferred for orchids, ferns, and recalcitrant species. Dissolve by adding powder to dilute HCl (0.1 M) before adjusting volume with water.
